About Us

We founded Sophie Macleod with the belief that consumers deserved better audio products. We envisioned a range of audio products that not only sounded great, but were also beautifully designed to embrace the latest consumer technology trends. That’s how we built AiRadio.

First and foremost, we are the team of husband and wife Hiro and Sophie Macleod, working together to bring this vision to life. Hiro was born and raised in Japan, where he developed a true love and appreciation for music, as well as a keen interest in the engineering and design of audio products. At the age of 13, Hiro built his first radio from scrap parts, and this passion budded in his heart. Later, Hiro moved to the United States and has owned and operated his own design and development company for over 25 years. During this time, Hiro has designed and developed a variety of products for many of the largest retailers in the United States. Sophie Macleod was previously a sales manager for an electronics company, and in the early days of the dot-com boom, she founded her own online magazine and store, which she ran for over 15 years. We believe that our shared entrepreneurial background and complementary experiences will make Sophie Macleod a success.

In addition to a strong will to pursue our goals, high standards for quality are deeply rooted in our genes. We focus on developing products that we ourselves will love, which means that we build products that we can be proud to display in our homes. If we are satisfied with the experience, sound quality and functions of the product, then we are happy to share it with our customers.

Sophie Macleod has a perfectly designed "New England sound", and we have hired an experienced audio engineer who has worked for many top brands to carefully craft excellent sound quality. More than just a great speaker, Sophie Macleod's unique design will enhance the style of any home decoration, cleverly incorporating vintage and modern elements, making it easy to fit in any environment. The speaker shell is made of sustainable bamboo and has a beautiful and flawless finish. We believe this gives Sophie Macleod a pleasing appearance, making it look more like a work of art than a piece of machinery. Of course, it also has built-in Alexa voice control function, which makes the elegant appearance perfectly integrate into the modern home.
